Africa: Stay Alive Skit

I wrote this Skit for the 'Stay Alive' program in 2003 for Africa. It's entitled: 'The Difference Between HIV/AIDS". The children act out how the white blood cells protect the body by fighting off diseases. Then HIV kills off the white blood cells which allow diseases (malaria, common cold, diarreah, etc.) to attack the body. This is when HIV becomes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), the body acquires these diseases and it eventually dies. This is a very simplified version of the actual process:).

We were finding that the teachers would ask us questions about basic HIV/AIDS and what was going on in the body. They didn't understand the process of how the body contracts HIV/AIDS and the process even when they contracted it themselves. See www.reachthechildren.org for more information.
